    Choosing a LTD Company Name

If a company has been previously dissolved , can you re-register the name with Companies House?

Nope. Tried this earlier this year with a company I dissolved 7 years ago.

Register it as something slightly different, then chose the name you want as the trading name.

I used TAB character to separate two words in company registration and their system though it was different name.

          RTFM on co house site?

You can apply to a court to have the company name re-instated to the register, if you can justify it.

            Yep, you can.

            Companies House Webcheck

If you look up 1st Action in the webcheck box, it will show the current one and the previous company that had been dissolved. They will have allowed the new one as I don't think it would have been the same people.....it's also not in the same area geographically.

If its for IT; then choose a name like "Smith's Fruit & Veg Ltd". That way you keep the IR away.

Bythe way, did you delete the recent calls from your mobile before she came back?
