Yanis Varoufakis accused of profiting from Greek crisis by charging £40,000 speaker fees

The radical Marxist, who was sacked as Greek finance minister, is charging lavish lecture fees, says an email from the London Speaker Bureau

Yanis Varoufakis, who was sacked from the finance ministry in July, has since reinvented himself as a speaker on the international conference circuit. The motorbike-riding Marxist is now managed by the London Speaker Bureau, which describes itself as the largest agency of its kind in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

An email from an agent of the London Speaker Bureau, published by Proto Thema, an Athens weekly, said that Mr Varoufakis now charges $60,000 (£40,000) for one speech given “outside of Europe”. The sacked minister has a sliding scale of fees, according to the email. Mr Varoufakis will speak anywhere inside Europe for $5,000 (£3,000) – and he will give a university lecture for $1,500 (£1,000). "

I wonder how much he charged for this then: https://www.opendemocracy.net/can-eu...emocratise-eur ...He's not a marxist anymore but a democracy believer albeit one with very left principles and a few good ideas on reforming the EU
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

He believes only enriching himself like most people. The "marxist" "socialist" "I care" label is to fool people like you into believing he is enriching himself to help others

Last time I checked, they didn't claim to be Marxists.

The difference is that I do not pretend to grub money off every opportunity whilst pretending to care about other people
