    Antarctic Ice Sheet growing

Interesting! is this going to push sea levels down to dangerous levels?

Many things can happen with much more ice about the place. For example, it will be a danger to shipping. But the cost of mojito's will fall. Swings and roundabouts.

French weatherman Philippe Verdier sacked for being a climate sceptic

A French weatherman has broadcast the news of his own sacking, saying he had been fired for writing a book challenging climate change.

Philippe Verdier, arguably France’s most famous weatherman, took to the internet to read a letter from the state broadcaster informing him of his dismissal.

His theatrical departure was designed to show that debate is being stifled by the French authorities ahead of COP 21, the United Nations conference on climate change, which starts this month in Paris.

Verdier was allegedly sacked by France Televisions for writing Climat Investigation, which claims that scientists have exaggerated the dangers of global warming.

Philippe Verdier ouvre sa lettre de... by Editions_Ring

Having been suspended last month, he was summoned to a disciplinary hearing two weeks ago. On Saturday, he received an envelope that he knew contained a letter terminating his contract.

In the internet video, he holds up the envelope and tells viewers: “I have decided to open it in front of you and with you because [the letter] is addressed to every one of you, in the name of freedom of expression and of the right to be informed.”

He then reads the letter in silence while a caption in French and English reads: “Philippe Verdier, journalist weatherman. Fired by France Televisions one month before COP 21.”

More than 15,000 people have signed a petition in support of Verdier, including 10 opposition MPs. The MPs said in a statement that he had “enriched the debate and helped to make democracy live”.

In his book, Verdier claims that the UN’s intergovernmental panel on climate change is driven by political concerns. He also argues that global warming could be a good thing for France, boosting tourism, reducing energy bills and improving health.

Verdier’s supporters believe that he has fallen foul of President Hollande’s campaign to present a united front before the conference. Mr Hollande is seeking a deal that would limit the rise in global temperatures to 2C.

It is interesting, the ice sheet has been accumulating slowly over millions of years, previous satellite missions indicated this process had been reversed in recent decades, giving a net loss, due to increased glacier flow, although the IPCC estimate had an uncertainty range from a 200 Gt loss to a 50 Gt gain per year. This more accurate estimate seems to show that the rate of increase has slowed but is still net positive, and may not turn negative for another 20 years.

There goes the 'scientists always suppress results that don't support the narrative' meme. And why is this NASA data considered trustworthy while their temperature results are always described as 'fiddled'?

Verdier's book is full of errors, and his contract precludes him from using his position to promote personal viewpoints. Even the unions want him removed.

No, it's just going to lead to other headlines that some people will want to ignore...

“The good news is that Antarctica is not currently contributing to sea level rise, but is taking 0.23 millimeters per year away,” Zwally said. “But this is also bad news. If the 0.27 millimeters per year of sea level rise attributed to Antarctica in the IPCC report is not really coming from Antarctica, there must be some other contribution to sea level rise that is not accounted for.”

So, they thought the rise was from the Antarctic, but it's not. So where is it coming from? What data has been ignored/suppressed that would account for the actual rise occurring?
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

No scientist, nor scientific publication, forecast the end of snowfall any time soon. No, I mean demonstrable errors like accusations, without evidence, of data manipluation and deletion, amongst other things. How's your French?

I think you might want to refresh your understanding of the of 'ad hominem' fallacy.

Technically no because the duplicitous taliban behind the "research, studies and "facts" always preclude everything they say with the words "could" or "would"
