    Logistics of getting car repaired

I can't think of anything I'd like to spend my money on less than car repairs. Added to that the garage is always 20 miles in the wrong direction from where I need to be & dropping off / pick up times aren't compatible with office hours.

    So...

In this day and age, doesn't anyone (reputable) provide a service where someone comes to your house, takes your car away, fixes it and brings it back?

    And if not, why not?

    Yes, Aston Martin do it.

"Normal" car companies don't and many even make it difficult to let you have a loan car. They might give you a lift to a nearby address, but that's about it

Have you got an indy near you who specialises in your car brand? If so, they can be the most helpful.

My Merc dealership collect & deliver - although the prices they charge for even routine servicing is eye watering
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

I have a sideline business. If you leave your front door open and keys in the hall I will send one of my "staff" round to pick it up
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Merc, BMW and Vauxhall definitely do it.
I'm not even an atheist so much as I am an antitheist; I not only maintain that all religions are versions of the same untruth, but I hold that the influence of churches, and the effect of religious belief, is positively harmful. [Christopher Hitchens]

Unfortunately nothing conveniently located for an onward journey into the centre of Bristol.

Will probably mean getting up 1.5 hours earlier & risking my neck on a cold, dark (and probably wet) misery inducing cycle ride.

I know that some shops offer the pickup/deliver, I'm curious how it works from the insurance perspective? Generally I hate to have strangers driving my car and avoid valet service like the plague.

You could sell your car to diseasex who would get it repaired and sell it back to you for less, and give you a lift on his magic carpet.
