SO Glasgow just got this a few weeks ago, I was out with some friends last night and someone got an 'uber' back home. The app looked pretty smart I must say.

Is this just the norm now in the cities that have it? Don't hail a cab, get an Uber driver?

I wouldn't want to entrust my daughter to some random in an Uber cab, sometimes the cost of a service isn't the only factor

How is that not also the risk even with 'proper' drivers?

If they have a taxi license then they aren't any more random than a black cab drivers.

So are you saying all black can drivers are just as likely to be rapists as unlicensed Uber drivers ?, and there is no oversight to the current licensing system ?

I agree its the same risk. Ever since SE7EN I've checked the door lock nubs on the taxi door every time i get in one.

The point being that Taxi drivers, black hacks specifically, are all licenced and regualted. Uber is anyone with a car and a phone that has passed the screening test.
