January start contracts – Too early?

Cannot grumble as been with client since July. I am officially due to end around Christmas, but the writing is on the wall about winding up in the next week or so, with extension not talked about.

Is there any mileage in chatting with agents about a January start at present, or take a long much needed break, learn French, try to resist Kilroy, and hit the search in the new year?

There's always mileage in keeping in touch with people. If a client is wanting a project to start in early January, they will be going to market in the next week or two. They'll want it all sorted before Christmas, which is only 4 weeks away.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

January? Contracting's ending today. Haven't you heard?
