Police blast out Alvin and the Chipmunks to stop homeless sleeping in station - Telegraph
A police force is flooding a bus and rail station with the high-pitched vocals of Alvin and the Chipmunks in a bid to stop homeless people sleeping there.
Officials had originally played loud bagpipe music to drive away rough sleepers, but almost 4,000 people signed a petition calling for the authorities in Bournemouth, Dorset, to stop the tactic.
The local council and police force have now swapped the bagpipes for the novelty cartoon band's high-pitched Christmas songs including "All I Want for Christmas Is You".
