Children should not be taken to marches. One of my objections to f4j. Its not appropriate.

Either way - the man is a fool. If they want to march for better ironing boards(or whatever) then let them.

A child is anyone under 18.

Those over 11 tend to have enough political consciousness to decide whether they want to protest or not, and can go on their own without their parents e.g student fees protest. The local student fee protest had plenty of under 18s in the mix (some where in school uniform ), was chaperoned by three police and was peaceful.

In regards to younger children if the entire community is marching or protesting e.g. miners then they will be involved in the protest as there isn't anyone capable left to look after them.
