Benched (Voluntarily) for the first time

Just completed a gig last Friday and the bench is just starting to warm nicely.

No contract in hand and currently too lazy to start applying. Mind is clear and relaxed, finally that down time I have been promising myself for the last few years.

Enjoying going to the gym daily, relaxing in the spa/health facilities and doing some market research for my plan B. I must say this bench business is underrated.

Saying all that I am relaxed as that dream gig has been verbally agreed to start sometime in Jan, if that doesn't work out then I'll be back on the hunt. Finally a few weeks off work and some chilling that was long overdue.

      .
He hath seen the light. You've hit the point where no longer are you sweating about the next gig and look forward to time off. That's what contracting is really about. The verbal dream gig offer is muddying the waters a little. Should be at this point and happy with f all on the horizon but it's close enough. Enjoy the time off.

Just on a slight technicality you benching yourself voluntarily would indicate you either didn't accept an extension or terminated the contract which your text doesn't indicate. A contract coming to an end isn't a voluntary benching. Just saying like.

Poor form, you missed a chance to take a dig at him for actually finishing a contract for once and not jumping to where the grass is greener

Don't forget to spend some of your free time creating a host of sockies to keep us entertained and annoy the mods.
