    Evil Bank Of Scotland

The Bank of Scotland have just made a change to my business bank account. They are charging £15 a month to use the account if there is less than 5 grand in it. And because the interest rate is so low to be virtually non-existent there will never be 5000 in it - because I am loosing money on the piss-poor interest rate. So I usually transfer money over to a business saver account. But with this new idea of blatantly ripping the customer off for £15 a month I am going to take my business elsewhere ASAP!!
    Anybody got ideas on:
The best business bank account for contractors?
Opening another personal current account and using that instead?
Just getting paid 'cash in hand' (joke)

Why do so many people have trouble spelling "losing"?

How are you losing money on the piss poor interest rate? Is it a negative interest rate?
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Abbey National were paying good rates. Move to them and let BoS know why.

HSBC Direct are good. Genuinely free banking and the indians speak better english than other banks.

I've never come across a bank that can speak, well except the back that like to say "Yes"

VectraMan well done for spotting the spelling mistake - have you considered proof reading comments in code as a next contract?
I will not leave 5 grand sitting in zero % interest account just so I don't get a £15 a month fee - and you cannot get accounts with 'negative interest rates' - though if you do manage to find one, I suggest you invest all your money in it as quickly as possible.

Negative interest rate is the one below inflation: 2.0-2.5% (official).

You could have guessed that people who don't earn money or have a bank account would have commented on this thread. Sigh.
