    renting question

    Hi all,

Ive just got a contract which I start tomorrow and i've found a flat nearby which is suitable. The agency want me to provide employment details / reference . I'm using an umbrella company so what shoud i do with regards to the reference. do i say I'm self-employed or employed? do i get a reference from the client or is that not done?

whats the best thing to do?

    cheers, Lamby

Well, when I was contracting through an umbrella they gave me a reference as my employer, which stated my salary based on the 5 month contract I had (i.e. what I would earn in that 5 months). That was accepted by the letting agency.
