Yep, same for me. I gave up booze last year.

Worst evening of my life that was!

Not got any target - main motivation is to lose a bit of weight.

Had a bottle in the fridge for Saturday, but didn't fancy it. Must be !

Even after a month I didn't lose any.

However, looking at and changing my diet has really made me lose weight.
I have not put it back on either.

              My drinking remains the same.

What worked for me is cutting out all processed carbs. So out is processed sugar (in all it's forms), cakes, biscuits, fizzy drinks. No pasta or bread, except small amounts of wholemeal - keep bread and pasta to the minimum!. No crisps or crap. Eat fruit insted.

Eat lots more protein in the form of fish, chicken, turkey, eggs, cheese, yoghurt, soya. This stops you getting hungry! Protein keeps your blood sugar level stable much longer.

Don't count calories, not too much red meat. Don't worry too much about fat content, but don't stuff yourself with bacon, and lard!

Just tipping the balance towards protein rich, carb poor meals and it's easy being lean and mean.

If I eat some bread, day to day, I used this:

Soya Linseed Bread - Breads - Burgen Bread

Available in all supermarkets I think. Lowest carb count.
