    New Age Discrimination Laws

Does having a notice period on your contract breach the new regulations? Doesn't that just imply that you are young enough to taking living that long for granted and will inevitably live another 28 days and so discriminate against geriatrics on their deathbeds? Does not having a notice period in your contract suggest that you can get out of the client's door for the last time in record speed, therefore you are young?

Does writing in good English, with correct spelling and grammar, imply you are older than those younguns who can only write in text message speak? How are CVs going to be written - in text speak (implying you're young) and therefore barred from being forwarded to clients, or not (implying you're older) and therefore barred from being forwarded to clients? Do we have to invent a new written language that is age neutral? How will agencies cope if they can't read it?

How do we attend interviews? Wear a mask - halloween style - so that the interviewer can't register how many crows feet we have or see how young we really are?

What happens if the agency asks for ID? Do we blot tippex over the last part of the DoB on our passports so that they can't register when we were born?

What do we put in the hobbies section? Knitting and clubbing together, or pubbing and dressing up in our Batman outfits so that they can't tell how old we are?

It will only change the words people say. Nowadays, these words have little relationship to the truth anyway so it makes little difference. Expect more phrases like "not a good fit", "PM away on holiday", "budget fell through".
