    Scotland's finances

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/poli...ze-of-UKs.html

Scotland last year ran up a £15 billion deficit that was proportionately twice the size of the UK’s, according to “devastating” official figures that prompted a sustained attack on Nicola Sturgeon’s honesty about independence.

David Cameron said the figures demonstrated that Scots would have faced tax increases on whisky, petrol, income and homes if they had voted to leave the UK. Alex Salmond’s preferred ‘independence day’ was March 24 this year.

Holyrood’s opposition parties said the Scottish Government statistics demonstrated the scale of the “con” Ms Sturgeon tried to sell Scottish voters during the referendum by vastly inflating the future value of oil.

They went on the attack after the First Minister published Government Expenditure and Revenue Scotland (Gers) figures for 2014/15, which showed Scotland was in the red to the tune of 9.7 per cent of its GDP compared to 4.9 per cent for the UK as a whole.

This was the second highest figure on record after 2009/10, during the depths of the recession and the banking crisis. In contrast, the rest of the UK’s finances have improved every year since the end of the downturn.
Don't worry Scotland, Komrade Korbyn will make you toy Socialist spend merchants look like rank amateurs.

    SNP aren't socialist.

    Their beliefs are a mishmash.

So if Scotland ever got independence the party would implode.

The country would implode. It has an economy almost totally reliant on England providing free everything.

        They've got oil.

I heard Salmon say the oil price will go up to £100 a barrel this afternoon.

Pretty much as expected all along then.

As am I said at the time, it was only going to benefit the top tier, Alex Salmond being one.

He would have ended up in the same situation as that is serving c@nt Blair eventually, imo.

They are socialist you just to have to listen to them whining whenever they open their mouths. Why else would they have won so many of the labour voters over. All the stuff about business is rhetoric and soundbites. What they want are redistributive powers to get their hands on everyone's money

They don't run a country yet.

They just believe they do so have promised the earth to get elected. Scottish people are more left wing so that's the policies they've gone for.

When they run an independent country their party will implode as they will no longer be fighting for independence.
