    Trade war here we come

Defiant China slaps steel tariffs on Britain as trade war looms

China has thrown down the gauntlet in an escalating trade war over the global steel glut, imposing punitive tariffs of 46pc on hi-tech steel produced in Britain and the rest of the European Union.

Hopefully the UK will now impose a 1000% tariff on ALL Chinese goods.

Not up to us. The EU decides the level of tariffs for its member states. I suppose George Osborne might be able to persuade them.

It was UK who blocked increase in tariffs!

Yes, because that always ends well.

Yep, you couldn't make it up. Sajid Javid was mixing with the proles in Port Talbot today, making out that the Tories hadn't blocked anything. A straightforward lie. Even the Fail is calling them out on it. Bring on June 23; the aftermath is going to be fun, either way.

Yup Mr Osborne persuaded the EU that was the right thing to do. Thanks George!

So that's it now. Maybe the EU will change its mind ?

If UK was outside of EU then UK would NOT have imposed tariffs where as EU would have (since UK won't be able to block).

Not persuaded - just used blocking minority voting share!

EU would be better off for UK to be out.
