Another chance for the UK to lead the world - soon to be p1ssed away

Mini nuclear power stations in UK towns move one step closer

Simon Marshall of Westinghouse, one of the companies developing plans, said the new power stations could help the UK become a leader in energy instead of being forced to buy it from abroad.

But a lack of vision will mean the UK will blow their chance.

Its all the "Stay In Europe" morons. And the assguru "Im okay, everyone else is a cretin, so lets do nothing" types.

If only we could shoot both groups the UK could lead the world instead of continuing its sink into oblivion.

Westinghouse is an American corporation. Britain recently had a nuclear industry, called British Energy, part of EDF since 2009.

There has been decades of decline in this branch of engineering in Britain. No opportunity has been missed, it was conscious withdrawal. See France on how to run a successful nuclear industry today.

That means the UK would be a net exporter of electricity, instead of importer. How that will be made easier by BREXIT, I'm not entirely certain.

I love the comment from the Greenpeace chief "scientist", that "this was tried in the 80s and didn't work". Yeah - technology has moved on slightly since then.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Whatever happened to the Pebble Reactor, was auto failsafe and self refuelling I think...

Would residential property with a mini nuclear reactor nearby get more or less expensive?

I was listening to this argument on the radio the other morning. Apparently although there is a will to build this BIG reactor down the road. It turns out that the method of containing the reactor is not as sound in practice as it was on paper. so the choice at the moment is carry on and let various big corporations with many vested interests profit from thousands of miles away while Western super mare and every one in it glows in the dark for the next few millenniums.

I think its time that the people took back the media and enforced a more draconian attitude to companies that want to send their press trained PR ******* out to spin stores.
