    Well there's a surprise.

You won't believe this, nothing useful found on Farook iPhone

CBS News reports it has been told by a "law enforcement source" that the phone of San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook does not contain any information of practical assistance in the investigation, although it is still analyzing its contents.

The news will not come as much of a surprise to anyone who has followed the case: the phone in question was one of three used by Farook. It was his work phone and was owned by his employer, the health department.

I doubt if they were the least bit interested in the contents of his phone.

They were simply using him as a pretext to establish a precedent.

I would have thought the health department could have accessed the contents anyway?

Terrorist doesn't use phone owned by and under the control of his employers to concoct plot

He destroyed his own and his wife's phones, so leaving his work phone intact may have been a cunning way to troll law enforcement after their deaths by making the FBI waste loads of resources on something completely useless to them.
