    Doh. Dude 'rm-rf'ed his company

"Marco Marsala has accidentally deleted his entire company with one bad piece of code.
accidentally ran, on all servers, a Bash script with a rm -rf
proceeded to remove everything, including all of the mounted back-up drives
sorry to say that your company is now essentially dead
    "

I thought someone had deleted an entire thread.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't exist

Don't you all think that this "story" was completely made up?

What as the name of this hosting company he ran and supposedly nuked in a single line of "code" ( or script as it is more accurately called ).

Where are the angry clients demanding compensation.

probably but its a great hoax all the newspapers are covering including the 'quality papers'.

            I find it highly depressing.

Reading something of an internet forum and then printing it as fact. Surely there are some journalists out there with some standards?

No wonder their industry is fecked.

What next? A double page spread about one man's struggle to buy a sofa?

wasn't this the same with the "half day off to watch game of thrones"? Saw that on Linkedin a few days ago, thought it was a hoax and then saw it reported in the paper today..

unfortunately its what was predicted when they started improving journalism stories wouldn't be properly researched, there was an article about a Daily Mail stringer who uncovered most of the tricks i.e. do X stories an hour, rip off other sources however unreliable etc.

it appears the quality papers have started doing it now.
