Just got this mail shot from IPSE:

'Our accountancy partner Brookson are delighted to offer an exclusive discount for IPSE members via our accountancy bolt-on service. For just £125 per month Brookson provide an all-inclusive specialist Limited Company accountancy service for self-employed professionals just like you!'

£125 notes a month , (plus VAT no doubt). I'm paying £85 plus VAT for a first rate service so I'll pass thanks! Takes some negotiation skills to come up with exclusive offers like that

Yeah I got that. I don't have much to do with IPSE and never really been part of any group like this before but they way they were advertising on behalf of them seems a bit out of order. It's one thing saying they are a partner. It's another doing their sales pitch for them. Could be all above board but doesn't come across like that in the email. Yep, also strange you would think any contractor already clued up to be a member would either be doing their own accountancy or be signed up with one already, I'm always wary of these kind of emails, its like some bloke knocking on your door asking if you want your drive tarmacked as he's in the area...
