Britain's trade options after Brexit - no easy way out

Britain's trade options after Brexit - no easy way out | Reuters

FREE TRADE DEAL WITH THE EU

The EU is Britain's biggest trading partner and a priority for London after a Brexit vote would be to minimise the hit. That could be tough given that 44 percent of Britain's exports go to the EU compared with the 8 percent of the EU's exports that go to Britain.
    Ouch.

    NORWAY OPTION

Britain could follow Norway's example and try to do a trade deal that would keep its access to the EU's single market as part of the European Economic Area as well as European Free Trade Association. That would allow British-based banks to carry on doing business in the EU.

But Norway pays a contribution to the EU budget as large as Britain's, when measured per person.
    Double ouch.

A post-Brexit British government would have to explain to voters why it was sticking with some of the most unpopular EU requirements while giving up its voice on regulation.
    Triple ouch.

Lets face it, the whole Brexit thing is a complete waste of time. This is a power struggle with us caught up in the middle. There can be only one winner. No one remembers a loser.

Those figs are complete tulip. The UK imports roughly double what it exports (within the EU).

There is no chance of a BrExit anyway.

So why are all the stayers so keen to push their corner? Does everyone have to vote a certain way? Is there no room for dissent.

At least it's only 2 months worth and not 2 years of campaign.

So many nasty things will happen if you vote out. I reckon the EU will kick you out first.

Ohh I don't care which way it goes really. I'm just a post-Scottish referendum voter seeing the tables turned and dishing out what I was served during our own campaign. Its hilarious.

There's a sound economic model for success.

Is that goods only? What about services, which is 80% of the UK economy?
                  Hard Brexit now!

Why does that make the figures tulip?
