Ideas for getting rid of old company paper files

    All,

My company has been 100% digital in terms of accounts, scanning receipts and electronic paperwork for the last 9 years - but I still have 3 or 4 large boxes of paperwork (payroll stuff and receipts) from before this time.

Ideas for getting rid of it with the least cost and most destructive method. Thoughts currently are:

    1) Burn - nope. Burning paper just fires it into the air or leaves masses of tidy up after woods
    2) Pour a couple of bottles of Ribena over it. Glues/stains the pages. When its dry, just bin it
    3) Shred it... nope, way too many pages for that. I would be there for weeks

    Thanks all

Very stupid idea to get rid of paperwork, keep it, but if you really want to destroy it then ask for advice from Arthur Andersen's ex-auditors...

What? Even paperwork that is 10, 11, 12 years old?

I don't see the value in keeping stuff that old. For what purpose ?

Get a shredder with a decent sized document feeder.

                  1. Original documents.
                  2. Backup.
                  3. You won't have to tell auditors/HMRC that you shredded original documents.

Shred it then make it into paper logs...

Then burn it on your fire to heat the house in winter.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore
