Blimey! the BBC let one slip through the net..

I could harldy believe my eyes. A chap who appeared to be bangladeshi and worked in local government highlighted the fact that many people he deals with day to day are losing their jobs to Polish who undercut them on wages....

Of course, he was shouted down by the obnoxious janet street porter.... and all the nodding dogs of the panel (except michael ancram)... then he stated that people were finding their contracts were not being renewed, then suddenly the company was employing 600 Polish. janet street porters response was to argue with him that why wasnt he asking how employers were getting away with not paying minimum wage...

    I despair.

What we need is an influx of 600,000 politicians, tv presenters and journalists.... I wonder what that panel would have to say about that....

I noticed Jobserve is carrying vacancies for a Scottish Bank - "Polish speakers only" the low rate on offer suggests it about costs & may be the thin end for our industry
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

Might just be that the end system is for e-banking in Poland?

Possibly. Still at least they're not discriminating by asking for "native speakers" only, in the way this lot do: www.google.be

Presume you're talking about QT mcquiggd. Usually watch it, though these days I find most of the audience, let alone the panel, to be on some other planet.

Funnily enough last week it was a Sikh who seemed to be the only one making any sense, while the rest agreed with the fully veiled, new converts to Islam, feminists in the audience.

Stick a sheet of bullet-proof glass in front of the telly. That'll solve the problem.

Or shoot janet street porter. She goes on about socialism and lives in a multi-million pound architect designed house.

Oh, and she has one of the worst websites I have ever seen!

Well that really hits the nail on the head doesn't it.

600,000 Poles followed by almost certainly over 1 million Romanians & Bulgarians. It may be good for the economy (it may not) but it will also certainly hit very badly the indigenous lower paid population economically. And the price in terms of social cohesion has never even been considered.

I'm afraid the electorate were warned by the Tories at the last GE. The electorate chose to not to be concerned. So be it. Live with it now.

                  Exactly Bob.

The likes of J Street-Porter and other champagne socialist idiots think it's really, really nice that they can get some nice, eager and defferential Polish plumber to change their tap washers for a quarter of the price a surly local would charge.

I, for one, wouldn't at all mind seeing some Eastern European journalists and presenters replacing the current bunch of meeja-establishment clowns.
