    Mulesoft anyone?

Just been thrown a bone about a permie position at Mulesoft. OK-ish salary at around £90k and Pre-IPO which could be interesting.

The job spec has bits in it about Java and J2EE, neither of which I have ever used and am not really interested in getting into now.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the company or the product and whether Java really is a critical part of it?

It's one of the leading Java ESBs, got a fair about of market share and seems well funded so worth a punt at 90k basic, and yes Java is pretty critical to it but not difficult to pick up

So an agency is trying to tempt you to apply for a 90k salary in a role you cannot do?

I am wondering why they're offering a role you don't have the skills for.

+1 If you don't know any Java then it's strange the pimp is putting you forward, maybe said pimp is just a clueless twunt

Maybe the pimp needs to find x number of candidates to plump out the selection.

The job itself does not involve Java development. They have a list of requirements, the bulk of which are relevant to my sector experience. The 2 Java related ones I cannot do are-

                - JEE and/or JSE framework
                - profiling Java applications (including threading issues), examining thread dumps.

If you can meet most of the reqs treat it as an upskilling exercise, sorted!

So long as it's not Java development. I'm too old and stuck in my ways to learn a new non-procedural programming language
