    IT services private ads

Anyone do this between contracts? You know - little cards in the newsagents plus mail bombing the local businesses?

I'm thinking about doing some of that for a bit as it's "tax efficient". They can't really get you with a PAYG unregistered mobile and googlemail address, working in cash only.

Yes I saw this on a card the other day:

IT geek offers O and A levels
    Phone Fred.

    I wonder what that means?

I am either in contract or have chosen to be between contracts (i.e. plan B work, holidays etc). So I have no idea what you mean.

I do it alongside my main contracts but purposfully avoid small businesses. They want the moon on a stick at a rock bottom price and whine when something unconnected breaks 6 months afte you've visited.

A few thousand flyers in the local free rag and targetted mailshots do me fine.

Which area do you cover (geographically)?

I'm not saying but it's in the North.

I do this from time to time, ad in the local paper. Most of the work is cleaning out viruses and spyware etc. In a good week I can earn as much as on contract.

I tend to avoid small business and non-brits for reasons stated earlier.
