Highly unlikely that is actually 17. Young men arrive with no papers after burning their passport. 17 is a popular age to choose as the authorities consider them vulnerable.

There are between one and three million Afghan refugees in Iran and recently Iran has started deporting many of them due to their criminal activities hence the sudden influx into Europe last year.

Just waiting now for the usual excuses such as he is not a real muslim, he is mentally ill or he was paid by the west.
