    The helicopter money begins

In Japan as you might guess. This is where central bank policy is going after the negative interest rates run out of steam...

Japan cabinet approves $130 billion in fiscal steps as part of stimulus

Dow Jones reported Tuesday that the package will also include handouts of $150 each to 22 million low-income people.
So basically printing money and transfering it to benefits packages.

Interestingly, investment is being made in the ¥ which is ironic as the Japanese desperately want to devalue it.

£ devalues and some people whinge.

Let's see how it plays out. If that works other countries will follow their steps to fight deflation

The only deflation we face is wage deflation. The rest is fudged (e.g. rent and mortgage costs not factored into living costs).

So on one thread you say there is no attempt at devaluation and on another you say let's see how it goes. Make your mind up!

Maybe if this approach comes to the UK it will be in the form of that citizens income that is often talked about.

If this is means tested then it just demotivates more people to work for minimum wage.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.
