Not really relevant to CUK forumites though as we only turn left when enplaning - don't we?

I'm not surprised to see this and I think it speaks to a wider problem in society with people becoming increasingly selfish and only caring about 'their' needs.

Putting these type of people in close proximity for several hours, in what can already be a stressful situation for many, is only going to fray tempers and adding alcohol into the mix is just throwing fuel on the fire.

I don't particularly enjoy flying and it's mainly because of the other passengers and how rude and insensitive they can be - from the extremely impatient who try and barge through or grab for their luggage knocking people in every direction in the process, to the other end of the spectrum who hold up the plane by turning up late or take forever to get their belongings at the end of the flight.

It's not rocket science getting to an airport in good time and keeping an eye on the information for departure gates but there are always those who wait to the last minute (probably in the bar sucking down another pint).

The other major source of friction on planes are the reclining seats - I'm actually glad that Ryanair and Easyjet seem to have removed them, because despite it being slightly less comfortable sitting upright, I'd sooner do that for a couple of hours than have the person in front's headrest right in my face which basically forces you to recline your seat as well. I suppose the real solution would be to make all seats recline together after take-off so nobody can complain about it.

Not seen any unpleasantries on German planes, friendly neighbours, people helping you get your luggage out etc.

Saw a fight on an Air France flight between 2 passengers just after it had landed at CDG. Lots of police ran on as the doors opened.
