Has anyone left a contract early?

If so, how did it go?

I have a good opportunity - more hassle as further away, but professionally it is the right move, it came to me as opposed to me actively looking.

So, I put my notice in yesterday. It did not go down at all well, tried to get me to change my mind, thinking a conversation would smooth things over. Think they regret notice being just a week, but that is not my problem.

First time and hopefully the last that I have put notice in to leave from a contract.

Indeed we should be skilling up our young and reducing the number of people after low end jobs. Or we can just import cheap labour then have no idea what to do with it when the plates stop spinning.
