Did City win the Champions League last night?

    Or am I missing something?

We beat their weakened team and they're all making excuses, they beat a weakened Barca team and it's their best game ever. Giddy feckers seem to forget that Celtic did beat Barca a few seasons ago in the CL group stage.

They aren't generally renowned as the best defenders in the world....

Pathetic, isn't it. Mate of mine is a Gillingham fan, and his favourite tale is of being at Wembley for the division 3 play-off final (younger viewers may need to look it up, as it was in 1999) when Moss Side FC nicked an equaliser in the last minute of injury time (they had been 2-0 down with less than a minute to go and managed to score twice). Yes, Gillingham lost on penalties, but the MCFC end was almost empty by then, so for every 10 fans who claim to have "been there", 9 of them were already on their way to the tube station when the crucial happened.
Man City are basically now a franchise team, when the interest (and by that I mean the owners interest) dries up, so will the cash. There will be no doubt no shortage of potential buyers when the time comes, possibly Chinese, whoever, but since the gravy train of EPL TV rights money shows no sign of slowing anytime soon, it could take a while.
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

Wow, City won the Champions League last week and now Liverpool have won the Premier League. Some giddy fans about these days.
