Yahoo hacked in 2013 - One billion affected

'One billion' affected by Yahoo hack - BBC News

    This was "uncovered" recently.
I wonder how many hacks get covered up every day?

Hands up who has or has ever had a Yahoo account?

Can't believe there are 1 billion of them.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

I did have, and flickr too which IIRC was (is?) part of Yahoo.

I got the email this morning from them.

Actually Verizon are buying Yahoo for $5bn!
Or maybe they were until today.

Logged into my Yahoo email this morning to find a pop up saying "Yahoo security issues - Read here / Not now".

But when I clicked on "Read here" (after hovering over the link to check it was genuine), the result was "Page not Found"

I'd happily switch web email provider, but it would be such a hassle downloading all the emails and propagating a new email address to all and sundry.

                    (1) Yahoo has a web interface which is spookily the same as Gmail's
                    (2) Set up a Gmail account, sync with IMAP and all your emails are magically uploaded to Gmail
                    (3) Set up a redirect from your Yahoo for forward everything to Gmail.

                    Job's a good 'un.
