Two week furlough from the 16th to the 4th, unfortunately they have raised an exception for me and I will be "working" from home next week :tantrum:

Short answer: maybe.

Contract's finished at the end of the month/year (yaay!). I've said I'm available next week if anything comes up but I should wrap everything up today.

My contract was due to end 3rd January, made the offer to work the furlough as didn't know if this would be my last so make hay while the sunshines and all that, low ab behold I get an extension and they remind me I offered to work

Don't you hate it when you have too many opportunities?

I've said no to another 6 months so the temptation to earn every penny over the next 2 weeks is strong. But money isn't everything.

I'm adopting a Dory type mantra. "Just keep billing, just keep billing".

Yeah i find that too much time off leads to too much talking to her/him indoors, never healthy, save that for the 2 weeks a year on holiday when you're forced to communicate 24/7.

We don't trust our contractors enough to do that, I was even ordered to tell my contractors that if they were in they had to work in a office were there was a permy in so they could keep an eye on them lol

Same where I am TBH, 3 week furlough for most. I have history with the client so they know what to expect....

Contract ends 23rd. Billing to the bitter end. Seem to be on a retainer in case they think of a document edit at the 11th hour.

Benching it from January if a potential client doesn't find another person to interview for a new gig. Damn companies applying permie style recruitment policies to freelance hires.
