Get your thieving Oirish hands off our apples!

First they close the cider mill, now they decide they'll continue using Somerset apples to make their Irish "apple based alcopop" that doesn't even merit being called a cider.

If strongbow is a cider, Magners definitely is.

Ever seen anyone drink Strongbow with ice?

      I rest my case.

        Wrongbow isn't a cider.

        Rattler is cider.

If it's made from apples it's cider. It's just not necessarily very nice cider.

Any cider under 7-8% has been dicked about with to some extent because the natural sugar levels in apples tend to mean the juice ferments to around this level. Watering it down to 4-5% is a bit tricky.

Lots of the trendy 'fruit ciders' are however based on grape juice flavoured with syrups I've heard, the very clear ones especially.

d000hg probably counts Skol as a lager.

Thatcher's is a good cider, but Rattler's my favourite, especially their cloudy one.

The Brazilians do...seemed to be the go to laver when I was there in the 90s. That and Antartica which I recall being equally weak.
