    Working with sound files

My wife works in a special needs school and has asked me to modify a MP3 so that the kids can play along. However I don't have the software to do this. What she wants doing in a portion of the song slowing down slightly - to give the kids time to play along, and the chorus repeating. It doesn't matter if it sounds a bit disjointed. Do any of you know how to do something like this and what software would be a good start?

    Cheers

Convert it to a wav, load it up in Audition (was cooledit pro):

Do yyour thing, then turn it into an mp3 again...

    The trialware should do.
