And the penny drops in Germany

The EU and the UK "need each other".

I wouldn't go quite that far but we would all certainly be better off with a tariff free trade agreement. Looks like that's what's coming.

    Already have one...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

We don't. We have an agreement where our government pays a net contribution to the European Union equivalent to around 3.8% of the value of our exports to them.

Its like a tariff, really. Just our government pays it (ergo British taxpayers pay it) rather than the consumers.

Thrown in are some bureaucrats on a gravy train.

It's like the EU already has its cake and eats it. We pay them to allow them to export to us.........hmmm.....sounds a bit daft really

The only problem with that article is:

          (a) there is an election in Germany this year and he'll more than likely be out of a job then
          (b) the party who are currently on course to win are very pro-EU (as the CDU are) which is led by Martin Schluz, he of ex-President of the EU

In fact lots of people have said that and then the next week said the opposite. Disregard it...

Clearly the penny has not dropped. They should not be talking about the UK. They should be discussing the best deal for those left in the EU.
