A buoyant First Minister today proclaimed that Scotland were worthy winners of the 6-Nations Rugby Championship.
Having made what many have viewed to be a rather flawed claim, Ms Sturgeon was asked to elaborate.
She claimed "Look, Wales beat Ireland, Ireland beat England, and Scotland beat both Ireland and Wales, so it is indisputably the case that Scotland must be Champions!"
When the interviewer pointed out, rather embarrassingly, that Scotland had in fact lost by a margin of 40 points against England in their previous match, Ms Sturgeon laughed it off.
She stated that result was simply "a London-based statistic", and could therefore be ignored as not being relevant to the Scottish people that she had a duty to represent.
She stated that she had "a mandate" to look out for the interests of the Scottish people, and that she was not going to let little things like the facts get in the way of that.
