    Garden Bridge Project Scrapped.

Thank God this bloated white elephant has been laid to rest.

The bridge was likely to cost more than £200m, Hodge said, and £37.4m of public funds had already been spent without any building work taking place.

I would love to see the breakdown of the £37M spent.

I bet that would be very entertaining reading.

Wastrels. I could have not built it for only £5m.

Think that would have been quite something.

I'm all for more green spaces in cities.

Wish they'd scrap the ludicrous HS2 proposals though....

It would seem that no one knows that bridges across the thames are provided for by one of the richest trust funds in the world.

Sad-dick just stopped London getting something that would have been of benefit and that should have cost them NOTHING as we had been saving for it since the 12th century

I visit London regularly and the Garden bridge is a great idea. It's right in the middle of a developing tourist spot and would bring in huge wadges of cash from tourists. I was quite looking forward to it.

              I'm alright Jack

Don't see why I, LadyMuck and other Londoners should underwrite a vanity project with our taxes. What have they spent 37.4M on?
