    Charity

    Hi all

can anyone tell me what the maximum allowable value is pa, for making a contribution to charity? I assume that the amount is tax free?

    Hi

I assume you're talking about corporate contributions from your limited company....

I regularly authorise contributions totalling about 1% of turnover (before tax but after expenses) but this is a rule of thumb for my company and no more.

Contributions I understand are fully deductible for Corporation Tax. If you make personal contributions charities will encourage you to fill out a form to allow THEM to claim back the tax you've paid on the money you're donating (i.e gross it up).

Probably best to ask the charity/ies you are interested in for more information rather than take my word for it as I'm not a tax expert. You could also speak to your accountant....
