Lorry drivers stung over accounting firm 'tax dodge' - BBC News

The drivers were directed to another accountant who reported concerns to the police. The investigation was then passed on to HMRC.

Accountant Nic Davison, who has worked with some of the affected drivers, said: "HMRC should have put a stop to it straight away, but what they are doing is prosecuting the people that can't defend themselves."

    Once again HMRC behave badly.....

And once again the media go with the "tax dodge" line rather than the real story - that it looks like the accountants have taken the money and disappeared with it, in the same way that Upton did.

    Shocking reporting.

This will be the same type of 'tax dodge' many of their stars were carrying out also. Pretty sure they wouldn't have referred to it as a dodge when it was the Beeb allowing it to happen!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

      I preferred version 1!

You may want to write a "polite" email to the BBC to point this out particularly as they wanted to defend their "talent" doing such a thing.
