            the extra 1000 is just an easy way for high ranking officials/business leaders to get their family over, with a nod and a wink at the paperwork

              I do feel sorry for the people coming over here.

              If they are any good they should go to a country that pays them better and actually has housing that isn't so expensive.

                T1 ET visa is really for those who have made a name for themselves, ie those with published works, a reknown reputation in their particular field. Most of those will be off to US before trying UK...
