Mr Brown said the government's aim was to "unleash" the economy.
Labour must have been amazed in the summer when petrol went to £1 @litre – no protests, no roadblocks of the refineries, which to them means the market can stand more taxation
Was the blockade really six years ago…now-a-days we just sit back & take this crap
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think
So he "unleashes" the economy by taxing the hell out of it?
Mailman
Mailman, YOU are not the economy. You, and we, are just a cost in the economy. We don't add value, we just cost. People who hire us add value; and the less they hire us for, the more value they add.

You must be the only person on this board that understands this. Most contractors on here like to fondly imagine that they are entrepreneurs.
This man is evil. The only good thing about him becoming president is that he wont be CoE anymore so he will have other things to do rather than f£$k the economy up.
His budget speech, for all his rhetoric was just basically about tax rises and dubious measures to appeal to his target electorate.
This is a man who talks about competing with the likes of India and China, but proposes higher taxes and more regulation to do it. Its insanity.
He is effectively turning the UK into a socialist backwater and god knows what he will do when he is PM
I only hope that he gets more and more stick as the economy goes south so that when the time comes he is unelectable.
Even though I dont like Cameron, I think Osbourne as CoE is a damn side better than we have now
There are no evil thoughts except one: the refusal to think

So when I "hire" someone to do some work for my company can I claim to be THE economy or will you come up with some other excuse for El Gordo's tax increases?
My dear old thing, everyone is part of the economy not just a mythical entity called business that you claim is the economy.
Just a pity fools like yourself and el gordo dont realise this
