    Tony Blair...

Wants us to get stuck into WW3 ASAP:

Claiming UK action against the Syrian regime is “highly likely”, Mr Blair said the government would not necessarily need to seek parliament’s approval for air strikes against the Assad regime.

Talk of possible UK military action follows reports that chemical weapons were used in the formerly rebel-held town of Douma. Medical agencies have said dozens of people were killed in the attack, which has been widely blamed on the Assad regime.

Hopefully this will have the reverse effect.

Blair being a war criminal doesn't diminish the culpability of Putin and Assad for atrocities in Syria.

If an UK intervention is needed in Syria, it's too late now. It should have happened before Russia jumped in. The logical conclusion for this civil war is Assad regaining power and rebels pretty much exterminated or jailed.

Looking at Iraq and Libya, maybe a dictator is the only way to govern these middle east nations.

WASHINGTON — The Russian military has been jamming some U.S. military drones operating in the skies over Syria, seriously affecting American military operations, according to four U.S. officials.

The Russians began jamming some smaller U.S. drones several weeks ago, the officials said, after a series of suspected chemical weapons attacks on civilians in rebel-held eastern Ghouta. The Russian military was concerned the U.S. military would retaliate for the attacks and began jamming the GPS systems of drones operating in the area, the officials explained.

Quite agree. There are hundreds of different groups opposed to Assad, many with extremist views, and the chances of a stable, let alone a democratic, government there if Assad goes are near zero. Any intervention that might see him ousted him would only cause even more problems.

Yep. A lot of people forget how economically irrelevant they are, and also that, even fettered, economic sanctions have worked. Ramp them up.
