I'm sitting here bored out of my skull rebuilding the RaQ4 again so I can host my company site which is no more than a vanity exercise and something else to put on the business card.

Do your sites serve a purpose? Do they get any hits?

I do, but it is merely a single page ad for my contracting work.

My plan B is hosted on the same server, but users would not know it was the same company.

As for hits, I doubt the contracting page gets more than 100 a year. It doesn't cost me anything though so for now it can stay.

I have my own website. It works a treat for phone interviews and I have successfully got a 6 month stint in Switzerland through taking the client through it.

It's nothing special and would need to be much sexier if I expected to use it as a direct income-generator, but it serves it's purpose by keeping me in the public forum.

Fortunately I'm not selling my services as a web designer/developer, so I'm happy with it..

I get 1-2 visitors a day if I'm lucky. It's handy to have just so that people can get hold of my phone number or address if they know my company name.

I've never gotten any new business from having a website.

Yeah, I have several personal sites showcasing my compositions and that does generate work. Having a limited company begs at least registering the domain name and having got that...
