Funny old thing, tickets to the Diana concert have sold out and are now on EBay at vastly increased prices. EBay are removing the auctions to show solidarity for the 'Diana cause'. They did the same thing for the Live8 tickets.

Of course, they continue to make vast sums of money on the thousands of other gig tickets still up for sale on the site.

Question is - do their terms and conditions give them the right to be this subjective on what ticket sales to accept?

Scarlet Mist is useful for those of you who are ever after sold out tickets (www.scarletmist.com), but you need to check close to the gig date...

One would have thought that the charity organisations would have realised that ebay is their best bet for raising funds.

If tickets are going for 500 quid on ebay then wouldnt it be better if the charity were getting the 500? It just means that the poor don't get tickets, but that is the way of the world.

I do agree that it is hypocritical on the part of ebay.
I do not see how they can justify banning the sale of any legal item.

why not do one of those share issue auctions where people do sealed bids - the most money being accepted.

Happened with Virgin shares in late eighties - I think lowest price accepted was £1.40 - but some poor schmuck paid £11.80.

It doesn't work that way.

Everyone who 'wins' pays the same price. The price is set at the bid of whoever gets the last share.
