Presidents Club where women were groped blasted in leaked report | Daily Mail Online

Revealed: Notorious Presidents Club gala dinner where young female hostesses were 'groped' by wealthy businessman is blasted in leaked report by Charity Commission
All-male dinner where female hostesses were allegedly groped by rich men was probed by Charity Commission
Leaked report found charity bosses failed to see the risks of hosting an event of that nature
Scandal-hit charity hit the headlines in January when a female reporter from the Financial Times went undercover at the event held at the Dorchester Hotel
She claimed that female hostesses were groped and propositioned while they served tables
Hostesses were asked to describe what underwear they would be wearing to the event, which had been going for 33 years and raised £18million for good causes
In response the President's Club Trustees said they had cooperated fully with the Commission while describing the FT report as unleashing a 'media frenzy'
Trustees said the decision to shut down the charity would deprive sick and underprivileged children a source of fund raising

In a leaked 11-page report, charity bosses were condemned for:

Failing to see the risks of staging an event involving young women and middle aged men
Absence of oversight and a lack of awareness of the regulations when putting on such an event
Making 'ill informed' decisions that damaged the reputation of the charity
The investigation found that the PCCT charity - which has hosted the event for 33 years, raising £18million - had not acted with 'reasonable care and skill' when putting on an event of this nature.

The adult women who accepted this paid gig had every opportunity to leave the venue at any time of their free will.

The children in these disaster zones being abused and exploited did not have this option.

Which scenario was covered up by the authorities and press for years? Why?

Haha class - the same argument used by scum of all quarters. So if you're not literally kidnapping somebody everything else is fine, right?

Women who get touched up at work are "free to leave" and that's that. Easy peasy.

You lot would have us back to Victorian factories if you could, wouldn't you?

I wasn't aware there had been a cover up from our press, but they're both out in the open now. Apparently, for some of us, it's possible to care about more than one thing.
