Found it by accident - was checking if 13 bits of space will be enough to keep dates (which worked out until 2028), now I can reserve extra bit for other data

Definitely a topic that needs to leave the realms of science fiction. It's not a question of 'if' but when. We should be considering half our resources on defence half on colonising Mars.
