Liability clause on new contract stipulates that liability from negligence or breach of contract "will not exceed £1m".
What makes me think they just copied and pasted this from somewhere irrelevant is that public liability insurance is required, but professional indemnity isn't mentioned. And this for a contract with a short presentation on-site, and the rest remote.
I mentioned these points to them. I think they were genuinely taken aback (i) that I read it (ii) that I raised objections, 'as no-one else has'.
I asked for the notice period to be drastically reduced so that the contract can be terminated and replaced if necessary, as the on-site meeting is imminent.
Is it worth worrying about the stipulated figure and the mention of public but not private? It doesn't really seem to fit the nature of the (remote) work.
