UK services sector on the verge of recession

UK services sector flatlines as Brexit fears slow economy | Business | The Guardian

Survey shows companies starting to cut staff in response to a decline in new business
Nothing to do with Brexit, companies would have transferred all the jobs to the EU anyway.

So the wider context, global slowdown main cause. Companies not hiring staff after they leave.

    But as its the Guardian
“However, if a Brexit deal is agreed, there should be a substantial amount of pent-up demand ready to give GDP growth a boost.”

So there you go, no jobs lost, global slow down as the issue.

I'm just quoting the article you linked. If you want to conflate the issue with different stats then I will leave you to it.

Most of the EU is on the verge of recession, except the bits which are already in really, really deep tulip. But hey, you've got a vision of the promised land to cling to, so you cling on...

In 2016, the UK was doing fine and was just about overcoming the after-effects of the 2008 recession. The Brexit vote put an end to that as the UK voted to do self-harm. There are UK firms that can't do business with Europe because they don't know what the situation (custom rules, employment rules etc) after 29 March 2019. How can a UK company that for example fits out cinema projection equipment in Europe perform a contract in March and April when they don'e even know id their truck can drive on the continent or whether the equipment is going to be held up at the border while workers hang around doing fa? The aforementioned is a real example and the firm is moving to Italy.
