      It's a neat system, although it would be handy on that site to have some kind of lookup where the exact longitude and latitude of the bottom left corner of each square could be determined.

        I know a paramedic who works in a remote area where they regularly need a helicopter and they use this.

          Interesting idea, although for communication of location it would be better if they restricted the words used to those of the phonetic alphabet, because people will mishear or misspell them.
