Barclays - confirmation of your personal details

I've been receiving this spam / phishing expedition every day for weeks now. How come it hasn't been closed down yet, and the perpetrators banged to rights?

How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

I get every bank several times a day. Nationwide, Barclays, HSBC, Egg, you name it.

No one cares. I've contacted the banks and they don't give a toss. Same for the fraud office. Not interested.

Most of this traffic is spam generated from Botnets - ie unsuspecting users whose PC machines have been infected with Malware and Spam Engines - there are various ways in which this type of Spam can be eliminated - but if you want to know how then Im afraid I will have to charge you a fiver.

PS Wendigo - do you receive these spams in your private or work email account ?

PPS On average Spam constitutes 60 per cent of companies inbound email traffic

            Private.

I get over 200 spams a day now, of which BT Yahoo only manage to intercept half of them, despite me marking all spam in my inbox.

I just run my own mail server and spamassassin makes short work of most spams with some good rules set up.

Which, considering that we are talking about software, would be nothing, so you are overpaying $30 pa for the stuff

Can it be piggy-backed onto my BT Yahoo account?
