Yard fury at No 10 over smears

    Hey, look at this
Len Duvall, a senior Labour insider and chairman of the Metropolitan Police Authority which oversees Scotland Yard, warned politicians including Tessa Jowell, the culture secretary, and David Blunkett, the former home secretary, to “shut up” and stop “whingeing and whining” about the police investigation. “No one in this country is above the law,” he said. He said the behaviour was reminiscent of the government’s actions over the Hutton inquiry into the death of David Kelly, the government scientist.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Duvall, who is also chairman of the Greater London Labour party, said Jowell, Blunkett and Lord Puttnam, the film producer and Labour donor who was ennobled by Blair, would look stupid when the police made their evidence public.
    Yo Blair!

Going down, going down, going down!

David Puttnam - epitome of luvviedom! I could never work out why he was made a lord.

      Anyway...
Some of the Met’s fury focused personally on Jowell, whose husband David Mills has faced a long-running police inquiry into allegations of bribery in Italy.

Duvall said: “Others might say that Tessa Jowell ought to be very careful. Quite frankly, at one stage we could have been investigating her, or the Italians could have been. Talk about glass houses and all the rest of it. Others might not think her defence (of Turner) would go down very well if she ever goes before a judge as a character witness.”
That's been on the back burner for so long I'd forgotten she's up to her neck in more sleaze herself!

Also read this from the Times...

THE prime minister is to shun the first major debate on Iraq held in parliament since 2004.

"This is an issue which is essentially Mr Blair's issue and he should appear before the House of Commons and explain where we are, where we are going and what his proposals are for an exit strategy."

"Why weren't others, who now have the benefit of hindsight, much more active in hauling the prime minister from something which even the prime minister, inadvertently, agreed has now been a disaster?"

Tony Blair has said he will not attend the Commons session, although it is taking place straight after prime minister’s questions on Wednesday

How will he get away with this...he is attending Prime Minster's Question time at 12.00, FOR 30 MINUTES. How can he then be allowed to just scoot off? His party have SO much to answer for!
